Using Contact Lenses
Lens application method
- Remove the lens from its case.
- Make sure that the inner surface of the lens is not turned outwards, if it is, correct it. (The edges should be facing up)
- Pull your eyelid towards your eyebrow with your left middle finger.
- Put the lens on your right index finger and pull down your eyelid with your right middle finger. Then gently place the lens in the middle of your eye with your index finger.
- Make sure that the lens is fully seated by looking down without changing your posture. Then slowly release your eyelids.
- Do the same for the left lens.
Lens removal method
- Wash and dry your hands thoroughly.
- Look up. Place your index finger on the lower edge of the lens while lifting the upper eyelid with your left hand and holding the lower eyelid still with the middle finger of your right hand.
- Slide the lens down the colored part of your eye with your index finger and gently pinch it out between your thumb and index finger.
- Avoid using your nails.
Lens care and cleaning
The first stages of using lenses
- Keep your lens care supplies by one.
- Use a clean, flat surface.
- Before handling the lenses, wash your hands with lanolin-free soap and rinse thoroughly.
- Always start with the same lens to avoid confusion. (right or left)
Cleaning
- Put the lens in your palm.
- Put a few drops of solution on the lens.
- Gently rub both sides of the lens (without nails) by wiggling your index finger back and forth.
- Cleaning the lenses after each removal removes the deposited layer on them.
Rinse
- After cleaning the lens, drip the solution on it until it is rinsed.
- Rinsing the lenses after each cleaning ensures that the deposit and dust layer that comes off the lens during cleaning is washed away.
Disinfection
- Place the lenses in the compartments in the storage container.
- Make sure that the lenses are well immersed in the solution.
- Close the lid of the container well.
- Leave lenses in their case for at least four hours or overnight.
- Disinfecting the lenses after each removal ensures the destruction of microorganisms that cause irritation or infection.
