I happened to click on the laser surgery link in Dünyagöz Hospital's web site while I was searching for a doctor's name for my friend. There was a good calculation there showing how much money you would lose if you used glasses or lenses. First I checked that and saw that I had spent billions on lenses and glasses until then.. Then I became curious and completed a form to see if I was suitable for laser therapy. I was actually called the moment I hit the "submit form" button; they gave me an appointment for 15 October, Saturday and told me to wear glasses for a week. Wearing glasses for 1 week was a real nightmare for a person who had been using lenses for more than 10 years. Fortunately, that 1-week nightmare ended and I was examined. My doctor told me that my eyes were not suitable since I had worn lenses but were not so bad either. She gave me a drop and another week's torture with glasses. After using glasses for 1 more week, I returned to Dünyagöz on 22 October 2011, Saturday. I was examined again and learnt that I was suitable for surgery. Then I prepared for the operation.

The operation itself was so painless that I can't even explain it. I didn't like the first part. They did something every 30 seconds in the first 1 minute in a room, which I didn't like. My blood pressure dropped and I felt as if I was going to pass out. But the second part was fun. They want you to look at a green light. There are red lights blinking now and then. There is high-volume music in the background and as it plays, the green light starts to become clear. This fun lasts for 4-5 minutes and the operation ends. I almost said, "It is a pity that it has ended, I was having so much fun." And I had never thought that I would like my eyes being flushed so much. The operation ended, I got up from the operating table and just like the way they do in Turkish movies, I said "Oh my God, I can see!!" You can actually start to see clearly the moment the surgery is finished. I would definitely recommend this surgery if your eyes are suitable for it.

The 4 hours following the surgery are real torture; you have to keep your eyes closed for 4 hours. I didn't have problems like pain, burning or itching. I used my drops properly, and I still do. The computer screen tires my eyes a lot these days but I used to look at the screen non-stop for 4 hours, now my eyes start to hurt after 1 hour. But it has only been 3 days since I had the surgery. I don't know if anyone will read this but I definitely recommend Ankara Dünya Eye Hospital and Op. Dr. Sibel Şalvarlı.
